Airport
The nearest airport is Los Cabos International Airport, San Jose del Cabo (SJD), approximately 25 miles from the villa. If you require an airport transfer we will gladly arrange transportation for you (fees apply).
Car Rental
We highly suggest a rental car for your stay. At the airport are the following nationally recognized car rental agencies: Budget (800-972-3414), Thrifty (1-800-847-4389), Advantage (800-777-5500), Europcar (877-940-6900)
Offsite with a shuttle service are: National (800-227-7368), Alamo (800-462-5266).
Passports
US citizens are required to have a passport. As of January 1, 2007 a certified copy of a birth certificate will no longer suffice. Non-US citizens should check to see if a visa is also necessary.
Money and ATMs
The legal tender is the Mexican Peso, approximately a 10:1 exchange rate. The best exchange rate is from ATMs, the closest ATM is located at the Tiendas de Palmilla.
One and Only Palmilla Resort, only 1 block away
With a reservation you can enjoy the world-class spa, celebrated restaurants or a round of golf at the One and Only Palmilla Resort, fees apply. To enter the resort grounds you must make a reservation for one of these amenities. The Concierge at Club 96 will gladly make reservations for you. Unfortunately the resort does not allow outside guests to use the resort pools. Club 96 is where you have access to the beautiful oceanside pools, private beach and fitness center. Maid Service
Maid service is provided before and after your stay. We will gladly arrange for additional services (fees apply).
Concierge Services
We offer pre-arranged concierge services for your convenience. We will send a Concierge Form when you reserve the villa for these services.
Free long distance calls
The phone number to give to friends and family is 651-204-1619. Messages can be left at this number. As a guest you receive unlimited calls to and from the United States and Canada, free of charge.
High-speed internet, free of charge
If you care to stay connected to the rest of the world, the villa has complimentary high-speed internet service.
iPod docking station
We do have an iPod docking station with speakers. Don't forget to bring your iPod with you!
About Town
Palmilla Retreat is located between two Mexican towns, San Jose del Cabo (15 minutes) and Cabo San Lucas (15 minutes). San Jose is a quaint village; the streets are lined with art galleries, boutique shops and a variety of fabulous restaurants. Cabo san Lucas has stores of all kinds, beautiful beaches, and very lively nightlife. Both towns are located about 15 minutes from the Villa by car.
Tiendas of Palmilla
When you exit off of Hwy 1 into the Palmilla Community, there is an upscale mall with wonderful stores and restaurants.
Grocery Store
The largest supermarket, Mega, similar to a Super Target, for your everyday needs and groceries, is located near the town of San Jose del Cabo. There is also a Costco near the town of Cabo San Lucas.
The Best Swimming Beach - Playa Palmilla
Right below the villa is a popular and safe swimming beach, the Playa Palmilla. Another famous beach in Cabo san Lucas is Playa Medano (near the Loverís Arch).
Boogie Boarding and Surfing
The place to rent a boogie board or take surfing lessons is at the trendy beach-front restaurant, Zipper's. The surfers love this beach and it's fun just to watch even if you don't surf. Zipper's is open at 11 AM.
ATV Tours
For a memory of a lifetime, drive your own an ATV in the beautiful mountains and in the sand dunes of the Los Cabos beaches. The All Terrain Vehicles are large enough for two.
